Virtual Admin Work Experience PLUS in Social Care! – Administration & Digital Skills
West North London Health & Social Care Skills Academy are pleased to offer another FREE 3-day Virtual Work Experience PLUS! in Administration & Digital Skills in Social Care, designed for 18–25 year olds living in the North West London area who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).
The programme is open to eligible young people living in Barnet, Haringey, Islington, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Camden.
The programme will take place on 7, 8 and 9 October, from 10:00am–12:00pm each day, and will be delivered live via Microsoft Teams.
Over the three interactive mornings, participants will:
- Discover what it is like to work in Administration within Health & Social Care, including professional communication, managing enquiries and appointments, confidentiality and accurate record keeping.
- Hear directly from our expert team and guest speakers, who will share their real-world experience and insights into working in Administration in Social Care.
- Practise realistic workplace scenarios through AI-powered roleplay simulations, including handling an enquiry at a GP surgery reception and developing communication and customer service skills.
- Meet our Digital Data Lead and discover how data and digital tools are used in the workplace, including data entry, data quality, Excel, sorting and filtering, identifying duplicates and Pivot Tables.
- Take part in a practical Data Detective Challenge, using a workplace-style spreadsheet to identify errors, organise information and understand what the data is telling them.
- Build their CV and transferable skills, learn how to use the STAR interview technique, and develop confidence in talking about their Admin and Digital skills.
- Take part in a simulated Administrator job interview, practising real interview-style questions in a supportive environment.
- Explore potential next steps into Administration and Digital careers within Health & Social Care.
For the Day 2 practical session, participants will need access to a laptop or iPad. A paid Microsoft Excel licence is not required, as participants can use the free online version of Excel.
Participants who successfully complete all three days will receive:
- An NHS Certificate of Completion
- Access to further learning resources, including Excel, Outlook, Administration and AI learning content
- Support with their next steps through the West and North London Recruitment & Talent Hub
